What lovely surroundings. I'm in the middle of a suburb. I'm envious!

Quite likely. After the lukewarm parashooting with The Queen, Old Danny boy has been rather quiet lately. :heehee:

This reminded me of the time in the 90's when my manager had the rear window of his Vauxhall Tigra disintegrate one hot summer afternoon. Just went pop: the assumption was some flaw in or damage to the glass combined with the temperature.

Our friend who was in the glass business in the UK for years said he was not surprised that this doesn't happen more often due to peculiarities in tempered glass.

Any old how, we are covered by insurance. Although we only have Third Party on both cars (aged 17 and 24) it covers glass and full breakdown service.

Went by the GlassDrive on the way back from Physio and they may get window in tomorrow so will let us know.

It is Paradise in the middle of orange groves. But we are only 6kms each way from small towns and 15 minutes from a large shopping centre and other amenities. Also, 20 minutes to the sea and 20 minutes to the mountains. On a bus route (200 meters up our lane). Who could ask for more.

Just a little moan this time :noidea:

On the early news on BBC TV this morning they were talking about the auction of African art in New York and showed some pictures of African art.

The first one they showed was the very famous painting of the 'Green Lady'

The prints made from it were all the rage in the 1960's and hung on many walls over here. It made the artist rich.

What has caused me to moan about it is that it's is considered not to be African art so the BBC haven't bothered to do their research on it.

The artist was Vladimir Tretchikoff, a Russian born in Kazakhstan who lived in Singapore until WWII, was taken prisoner by the Japanese and after the war moved to Cape Town where his wife had been evacuated to from Singapore.

Africa never acknowledged him as an African artist!

So the BBC obviously just Googled 'art from Africa' and didn't bother to check on what they were picking.

No, I'm not an art expert and am certainly not an artist. :heehee: It's just that when I was working out that way in 1962/64 I met him at a party at his house (taken by a friend who lived there) so know about the painting that made him rich. :)

The car window came in so T'other Half got a call to come in at 3pm for fitting, so off he went. :yay:

                            Welsh elections on Thursday.

I saw the 'Leaders Debate' on BBC Wales - I've looked through the main policies of each party.

I have concluded that I will be voting for Labour - which is a worry :th scifD36: - there really is no realistic alternative.

Some of the smaller parties policies would not be out of place in the Benny Hill Show.

T'other Half was home by 5pm. They told him the mechanism in the window was dodgy but in the two years we have had this car we have never opened the rear windows. They also said there were two tiny dings in the windscreen so they repaired them. As it was an insurance job he gave them a tenner for a few beers.
