Indeed, but I had these already on order. I also sowed beans, had them germinated and then decapitated by slugs/snails. I am have tons of peas on the go, so I will sow some more of the ones I have in hand (I think they are orinoco) if I get a chance but I can't say I am overly worried about it.

      T&M have always been rubbish.

I tend to agree with scrungee beans germinate so fast at this time of the year that I can't see the point in buying plants, especially online plants.

I did take a punt with my eyes open to be fair, as I have experience of them years ago - there was the hope that something would have changed. Purely circumstances that bit me on the backside this year, to the point that it has only been yesterday and today that I have managed to clean the greenhouse and put it into a useable state. It isn't easy to sow beans when you don't have anywhere suitable to sow them (hence the decapitation of the ones I did sow) - some we win, some we lose.

Pity you don't live closer as I grow the beans for a lot of people :noidea:. I don't suppose you will be seeing Michael soon otherwise I still have some runner beans left (need to go in by next weekend).

I don't think Peas are a very lucrative crop. Tesco frozen petit pois are only £1.30/Kg, but (easier to grow) fine french beans are £8.75/Kg and no sorting out stuff for them to climb up, and no shelling either.

I haven't seen Michael in over a year - at least, not face to face. In fairness, I only have a tiny wee bit of space at the back of two barrels that was going to be for the French beans, so I either sow the Orinoco beans direct into them or I put in beetroot seedlings that I need to thin out of a neighbouring barrel.

For clarity, and please don't judge (bear in mind my situation over the past few years and in particular this past year or so), this was my greenhouse this morning after a day had been spent on tidying/sorting it yesterday....

And I know I am in for one hell of a telling off when Mrs C gets home (not least as I can barely walk with the pain!)

Reading all of our posts, I'm beginning to wonder how many of our "man" hours are wasted because suppliers are so unreliable!

Remember when you could order something. It would arrive and be just the ticket? No complaints or returns or any hassles. :noidea:

In fairness, I kinda did it to myself with this lot as their reputation goes before them - and had I known about a nursery that I found only a couple of weeks ago, I would never have ordered from them.

More and more I am going back to local small family run suppliers for things, as the quality and service tends to be so much better. We've recently been going to a wee market with a smashing fruit and veg stall and an equally good butcher - - food so good that it reminds me of when I was a kid. This was our haul last weekend:

Those apples are roughly the size of my hand - you just don't see apples like that in supermarkets.

I presume that was before the internet, and this strange obsession every one seems to have with ordering online these days.
                                Covid has not helped.

But T&M have the reputation of not coming up with the correct goods, when you order.
I used to order seeds from them in the 80s and often you didn't get what you asked for from their catalogue.
