I always use Airbnb when we head out to the far east, I treat their properties like I would expect someone using mine, respect. Most of the places I stay at, are condo's or serviced apartments, there is 24 hr security and staff should you have any issues. Most of the times the owner has contacted me regarding rebooking in the future, they have gave me their mobile number, so I can book direct, giving me a better rate than I would using Airbnb.

Ok, not a proper football fan, but I will watch England in tournaments, although if the Scotland match was anything to go by they aint worth watching.
Everyone keeps saying how well Scotland did but to be honest England looked a pretty sad bunch of r soles.
Oh no, I hope no one passes me the ball, I dont want it, kind of team.

But to get on with the moan, game starts at 8pm, so why does the programme start at 7 pm, are they afraid of missing it?
The amount of waffle they spew out it could happen I suppose.

And if they "take the knee" they should be ashamed.

I have only seen bits of your football and either nothing much was happening during those moments ar there was somebody in agony on the gound. So really haven't been bothered with it.

        Tsking the knee. The Woke.

Woke over here are going crazy with the BLM and also carrying pitchforks and torches over the terrible residential school horror. The era that most of the dead children lived in was one which had a hign death rate from TB and given the abominable conditions, one kid gets it, they all do. No excuse for the schools but times were different.

Prime ministers as recently as Pierre Trudeau (Justin's daddy) signed off on running them. Shame on him.

Anyway, no matter how bad what the white guys did, the Indians are ignoring their own bad behaviour history. Mohawk Indians have burned done two churches on a reservation not far from me. Today. And they toppled Sir. John A. MacDonalds statue.

I wonder if they realize that Joseph Brant, Mohawk Chief who aided in the 1812 war, bought and sold slaves. Some as young as a 7 year old girl. He also enslaved people from other indigenous tribes who were captured in battles. And so did a lot of other tribesmen... so why aren't they Woke about that?

        Off my soap box now....

More of a fan than me, then. :heehee:

I actually went to a match in the 1950's (Leyton Orient v West Ham) but have never watched a match in person or on TV since. I used to play for the school (outside left but don't think they have the same positions nowadays ) and we won the London Schools Championship when I played for them.

I'm just not interested in team sports :noidea: but playing for the school brought certain privileges :)

Although football, and some other sports, on TV seems to pre-empt other programmes I don't really mind missing a programme I would prefer to be watching as so many people want to watch them. I can always find something else to do or watch.

It surprised me, but i liked the England women's football team.
They usually score goals and win which helps...

I watched the match last night but none of the hour long build up or half time analysis waffle. True football fans fans will watch and listen otherwise they would not show it especially as the non playing coverage was 50% adverts.

Why do UK olympic athletes wear a shirt with GB written on it? A number of athletes are from Northern Ireland - shouldn't the shirts say UK to make it clear that athletes from all 4 nations are competing?

                Is the world going crazy...

I know why there's a cardboard shortage. It's the new craze for 'no-dig' gardening. It takes vast quantities of cardboard, compost, leaves and mowings, every year. I wondered how long it would be before the acolytes started to run short of materials. A local compost provider has already had to close for 6 months as the Brits had bought him out of his existing stocks. And local dairy herds are ****ing on overtime to provide FYM.

I was reading yet again somewhere online a day or two ago advocating covering the ground with cardboard and planting through it as the new wonder method of growing, and remembered visiting an organic, centre for sustainable living, etc., etc. who were advocating that method, and I lifted a few sheets of cardboard (laid on top of weeds) to reveal it was infested with slugs, snails and woodlice underneath.

We get very few amazon deliveries (virtually none) but those few boxes are kept for when we sell things. I'm always happy to have free packaging and friends drop boxes into us. We take what we can use and then the local hospice charity shop has the rest. So we upcycle instead of recycle - much better for the environment and the pocket. :blue thumb:
