Climate is in constant flux. Yes, it's tricky for humans (and other species) who have inhabited all sorts of areas where change will make conditions less inviting, but the planet doesn't exist for our convenience. It's a rock orbiting a star. :) Will life on earth die out? Yes, of course. Have we speeded that likelihood up? Maybe. But in the time-scale of the universe, we are but a piffling entity.

@CanadianLori ,as I said earlier, there seems to be a certain element that must be pyromaniacs, when they here fire warnings they go out and light fires.

I think today on the news there was something about a bonfire that got out of control and burned a few fences, gardens and I believe a house, that was in a small residential area.
If it had been in a forest it would have been
well out of control before anyone noticed.

Climate change is always associated with how the human race will survive, occasionally you hear concern about wildlife.
I'm sure wildlife would prefer Climate change to habitat loss due to human development and farming, but that is a minor concern.
We have the odd reserve here and there.:dunno:

One theory about human expansion across the planet is that climate change drove early humans out of Africa to spread across the middle east, Europe and Asia, meeting, mixing with or wiping out other forms of human that evolved elsewhere.

The problem with current climate change is that its driven by human activities and happening at a vastly accelerated rate over a century rather than millenia, impacting whole eco systems and wiping out species with no time to adapt or escape.

As for the fires, idiots who don't know how fast fires spread should not be allowed out of doors. Their embers, sparks and bits of shiny rubbish can create devastation in seconds. I believe Spain and California are now using goats to clear scrub in forested and wooded areas to reduce fire hazards but educating the populace abot responsible behavious would go further.

Here and there says it all. Protection for "green" spaces is being eroded at a rate of knots without a thought.
I guess our biggest problem is Humans first and sod the rest of life. I don't see this attitude changing. Yes, we all want to survivie but we need other life to do likewise.

What I see of the human race and how it's going, to be honest, if we are wiped out in the next 500 yrs I think it might be a good thing for the planet

Definitely. Without humans, within 100 yrs the surface of the M25 would be breaking up as vegetation thrust through and gradually it would become a natural environment again.

Faster than that @Philippa ! The planet needs bees more than it needs us but I suspect not enough of us will realise that before it's too late for them.

@Obelix-Vendée probably more Drones flying around these days than Bees and other insect life.
Getting fed up with the constant fascination with AI when we haven't even mastered HI yet. I've no doubt some will prove beneficial to humans ( of course ) health wise - new treatments, new vaccines and so on but much of it could also be deemed detrimental.

I did once read that as bees are always considered to be good pollinators a lot of pollination is done by other insects, flies etc.
I think we just have a nice feeling about bees, but we hate flies and wasps.
It goes back to the honey thing,if something is useful to us in other ways it gets a good press, if it might sting you or bother you in the kitchen it's probably nasty.

@pete yes, here we have hover flies, wasps, ants and many more plus a diversity of bees. All pollinators welcome here.
