I hope they can get back on their feet Robert, I can only imagine what they are going through.

A few pictures of our sons and DILs house and sugar salon in Bangkok after the worst of the floods and they are able to return home.

      Terrible...

My parents also had a flood in 1993 and, aside from the material damage which was enormous, the memory remained a terrible shock for them for many years after.

If you look at this clip, which is taken not far from the area where they lived, in a hilly area as well, and in close proximity to water creeks as they were, you can have a very good idea.

But the amazement in front of such powerful displays of the force of nature prevails for me over any negative feeling towards it.

      Update:
After several weeks of being under water and a major clean up the salon is ready for re opening. Some new furniture to arrive today ready for tomorrows big day.
I reckon they have done a remarkable job when you look at the before and after.
      This picture taken today (tuesday)

Wow, what a difference. Sorry Robert, I missed the pics you posted before, how soul destroying, but they've done an amazing job of clearing up.

Mira, I remember seeing those floods on the news at the time, didn't see the shot of the torrent coming down the hill though, wow.
