London & Surrey: OPM Caterpillar Warning

    Now, I haven't actually seen any of these yet, thank goodness. It is a single specimen of an Oak Processionary Moth caterpillar. They are fascinating--they do indeed hang around oak trees, forming processions and clusters--but also distinctly toxic. Really mustn't even be touched. And there is now an outbreak of them currently in London and Surrey, leading to a health warning: Londoners warned over toxic caterpillars
