Magnolia tree pest?

    Looks like some kind of scale insect,I've seen it before but never delved into exactly what.
    Just scrape them off.

        I have this on my peach tree in the greenhouse. Ants seem to look after these creatures. I also scrape them off. I also use a strong mix of a well know washing up liquid to wash the affected areas. In my case I use ant powder at the base of the tree. They always seem to come back in my case. But I have a very good crop of peaches.
