I've read a lot about making hurdles from coppiced willow, but has anyone used hazel? We have lots of previously coppiced hazel clumps. I want to take them back to the ground again, and I also have need of making some barriers /screens to hide the normal items (bins, etc), as well as to improve boundaries.

Has anyone used hazel coppice produce to make hurdles? Doe you weave in situ, or make and move later? Is it difficult to do? I'm fairly good with my hands, having done a number of indoor crafts, as well as having a few attempts at hedge-laying.....

    Answers on a postcard, please!
