If I remember rightly Theresa May was AGAINST Brexit, BUT she was prepared to go with the will of the people. Also, lets get this straight, what we are going through now is the fault of 2 murderous w******. Bliar and Bush junior.

I have a fair number Muslim friends, Pal, and none of them "get" why someone should slaughter innocent people by being a Suicide Bomber. They don't believe such people are religious or wanting to go to Paradise by such means.
As one of them said today. "these people are sick animals, failures in Life, and they're excusing their hate by saying it's in the name of God. My Kids could have been there and a lot Muslim kids were there and could have been killed just as easily as non-Muslim kids. These people don't deserve any pity and Muslims hate them just as much as other people!"

I always agreed with King Theoden in the Lord of the Rings when trapped in the Deep by evil forces and he shook his head and said..............

“So much death! What can men do against such reckless hate?”
        J.R.R. Tolkien

and then standing up said in defiance.............

“Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and the red dawn. Forth, Eorlingas!”
J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings (3-in-1)

          Yeah well?
Never was a fan of old Tolkien, far too much fantasy for my liking.:snork:

My main hate in these despicable acts is that the perpetrator is counted in the death toll. They shouldn't even be given the air we breathe

Actually, pete, if you've ever read any of J R Tolkien's books they're written from his experiences of fighting at the Front in WWI, being the only survivor of the 18 friends who volunteered to fight, and then living through WWII and seeing all the evil that there was there, his books are a reflection on real life.
Let's face it, what evil, mad, senseless things that happen in real Life are not fit to be in a Fantasy story, but J R Tolkien tried to do just that only setting his Wars and the battles between Good and Evil in a different time...........so there was always that eternal struggle between Good and Evil Madness just as there are in real Life. I sometimes think I'd rather live in the world of J R Tolkien than in this world having seen, over the years, the senseless evil acts, the narrow minded beliefs, and slaughter of innocent people by other people in the belief they are superior in their interpretation of a Religion or Race..........and we're supposed to be the most intelligent animal on this Earth?............I have my doubts.:coffee::dunno:

Well I've only seen the crap films they made about his books so probably slightly prejudiced.
Most of it comes over as complete fantasy to me.

In view of today's terrible events in Manchester I recommend listening to "Peace" by Peter Hallett.

UK TERROR ALERT LEVEL RAISED TO CRITICAL

This is the highest possible level, and means that 'An attack is imminent'

So, despite all the usual clap-trap that has been rolled out by the politicians and the media, we are not carrying on 'as normal'

I always get so pissed off with that statement, that things will carry on as normal.
We know they wont so why say it?

This is so very scary.....our 3 children all live up in London and every day I wake in dread of the news. One was living up in Manchester until a few months ago...frightening times.

Errr, yes, that's what it is, pete, real life turned/interpreted into fantasy. But by doing so, he's at least put some examples of individual honour, honesty, bravery and friendship into that world............and perhaps pointing out that it is those values and traits that will keep us fighting against evil madness.:dunno::coffee:

No idea @pete - supposedly it is to show a united front and show the terrorists that they are not winning because we can carry on as normal.

But we aren't carrying on as normal - given the threat level, it is possible that we will see members of the military on the streets, and I would say it is almost a guarantee that they will be seen at events and gatherings; the Military Police are no strangers to Twickenham Rugby Stadium as they are there annually for the Army v Navy match, so they already know how things work; I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there were fully armed military staff at all the sporting venues this weekend. Yeah, nice and normal that is - take your kid to a rugby match and have to take them past big hairy-ar5ed soldiers with machines guns; totally normal, NOT.

Thing is, I think it is high time that we DIDN'T carry on as normal - it is high time that we got a fire in our bellies and went and kicked the scum that is doing this to us into touch, for once and for all. And if that means opening the Trident cabinet up, then so be it - - I'll happily press the button if nobody in government has sufficient balls.

But, you're ignoring the real world, pete, because, like it or not, the world will carry on as normal. I know my friends in Manchester will in a week or so carry on doing the normal things in life while they will be shrugging their shoulders not letting the bombing stop them from living.
A lot of people who were there or have had loved ones killed or injured will have their lives changed for ever, but those who weren't there, or those who don't believe it can/could happen to them will carry on as normal.....that's Life.:dunno::coffee:
