Sunday morning had us finishing the framework.. Going round & checking every P clip & that each had it's tech screw in being careful not would be touching the plastic anywhere.. Then finished trenching & put hot spot tapes on..

      Door frames in..

One of the trees at the bottom removed for the door.. The rest to come out later..

He he, it is beautiful soil isn't it Kristen... It has been turned for a few hundred years now ..:) This garden was part of the village medieval burgage plots.... It produces lovely smooth spuds as it is such fine loamy soil... :blue thumb: I have kept it good also manured it for many years too, so it produces lovely veg..

Well a little update.. I have had a family bereavement so have not had too much time to spend in my new tunnel but hopefully will now..
From my little tunnel that was there before I already had broad beans growing & this was my first harvest..! When podded they yielded nearly 3lbs.. This I was really pleased with as I like them small... :blue thumb:

It is a #6 a perfect size for me & it is signed by the maker as well.. Just beautiful.. http://www.trugmakers.co.uk/

As I said before I have not been able to put the time I had planned into my tunnel as have had so little time with family matters, but here is progress so far.. All the finishing off of the tunnel will also be completed in the next week now i hope too.. I have not got my path sorted yet but I need to get plants in as they were getting leggy waiting..

Well I was going to post some pics but PB is playing up so will post them in a while..... :dunno:

I treated myself to a pair last year - a deep one (for veg, etc.) and a shallow one (for flowers / asparagus / etc.). Not exactly cheap, so I have chastised myself for not looking after the ones that my Mother gave me when she downsized ... and have promised myself to look after mine :) as they should last a generation ... although based on my experience I have zero expectation that my kids will look after them thereafter, nor their kids in their stead ... ad infinitum!

I also bought myself some traditional Beech-rimmed sieves. My Mother gave me a couple of those too, which I have looked after :), but hers were all the same size mesh (dunno why?!) and I wanted one "fine", one "coarse", to go with her "medium". I don't think the ones I have bought, although well made, are as well through through as hers were. I think the "wire" in the sides is something I could catch my nails on when using them, and it seems obvious - to me at least! - that the craftsman could have hidden them safely within the layers of rim. I'll take a photo if anyone is interested ... but I might just be typing to myself here!!!

Kristen I have 2 beech rimmed sieves from Hibbitt's from years ago & they are still perfection although must be 40 odd yrs old now.. http://www.hibbitt.co.uk/prod.php?cat=22

Also, to go with my new Trug I was also given a small fine mesh potting sieve from Burgon & Ball.. No sharp corners & very nicely made.. I would like to think my S in L will covet all my gardening tools.. He already has his eye on several old ones... My sieves spend more time with him than me sometimes...!

My new baby one.. Not christened yet but soon to be..
