Which is probably where we are heading.
Once it becomes common practice it will be difficult to go back to normal.
They keep coming out with, the new normal, which kind of says it all for me.

Even though I rarely go out in public except outdoor restaurants, I have bought a "pretty" one ... I can put a filter in it ...

It's not difficult getting used to wearing mask. We have needed to wear them on some of our holidays in the past.

I also got used to wearing clothes after they shut the Garden of Eden! :heehee:

Well, it looks like we won't have much choice soon, when shopping, as it looks like it will be made mandatory to wear a mask going into a shop. I've been wearing a mask and gloves when shopping for weeks now while also cleaning the Shopping Trolley handle before touching it as the World and his Mate have used it before me.
I work in a secure area now where only a card will allow authorised people in and, even though there are only 4 of us in that area, we all wear masks throughout the day....except when drinking Coffee or Tea:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Shopping is lowish risk (level 3), but going to a restaurant or bar are much higher risk (levels 7 & 9) and diners and drinkers aren't required to use masks, plus the goverment is encouraging to go to more risky places by issuing 50% off food vouchers to use in them :rolleyespink:

Yep, while I can see the reasoning for it, this is what I feared would happen. I am wary of over-reaching state powers, but have always worried that unless more people started showing some willingness to wear them for others' safety when it was really neccesary, we would reach a situation where it was forced upon us in most situations. If it was seen that people were just prepared to be reasonable then I think it might have been left to trust, but now we're getting closer to the dreaded scenario of jumped up jobsworths with clipboards telling us what we can and cannot wear.

I think its really sad that some people refuse to endure the irritation of wearing a mask for a matter of minutes, when the safety of staff who are in a store for hours on end is in the balance. Even if it only provides a very slim additional boost to their safety I still haven't hard any truly reasonable rationale for not doing it.

Apart from a personal perception (which I don't decry) of masks and gloves being uncomfortable. The argument that they 'can' be dangerous (quite correct) is only if they are used incorrectly. Both are added protection if used correctly. I can't endorse and we can't legislate for incorrect usage.

So, we go through 4 months of pandemic, we all have been shopping for months and suddenly, we need to wear masks?
Either they have to come up and say the information for the last 4 months has been totally wrong, bearing in mind that was the time when it was most prevalent, or they have to come up with a reason other than the very flaky one of, Oh the science has changed.:roflol:
