Your 'Early Sensation' is gorgeous @OwdPotter .. I didn't know you had it.

'Margaret Hunt' opened today.. one of the easiest to grow I have found.. and gives a spectacular show later on..

Quite pleased with first flowering of C. patens 'Rebecca' planted last autumn. For the moment its rather short and the flowers are quite close to the ground. Hopefully it will grow to a more respectable height. Any forum members have it?

Thank you! I'd always understood that the pink/barred Clematis were better in shade to avoid fading, but if they 'fade' to such a pretty colour, I could give one plenty of sun  I believe the same advice used to apply to 'red' ones too, but perhaps the newer hybrids resist fading....
        Tranquilité opened this week :)

          Thank you @Mrs Hillard.
I was inspired for this by a lovely pic by Jess S from the old place.
It’s a couple of years old now, but still quite small, only about 600mm or so tall as yet. Maybe a slow grower?

Mrs Cholmondley. The flowers are huge but she is looking a bit tatty.

I am very tempted by the new Clematis Guernsey Flute.
It is available for £14.50 from the breeder Raymond Evison, and I have bought clematis from him before and been very happy. Everywhere else it is about twice the price. However the website states it will not be dispatched until after 10th June and unfortunately I am having an operation on the 19th and may be unable to plant it.
How long do you think it would be ok in the 1.5 litre pot in which it is supplied?

I expect it would be ok in that pot for some time.. or could you repot it into something just a little larger for the time being? it doesn't have to be huge. 1.5 ltr isn't very big really, bit on the mean side if you ask me, but I expect that's why it's cheaper.

Thanks @Mrs Hilliard, I think I might risk it. I'm just not really sure how long recovery will take, but I might be able to get someone to help.
And you are quite right, the more expensive ones are 3 litre pots, except for Hayloft who are selling it in 7cm pots for £18!

^extraordinary... although I've had success with 9cm clematis before, depends on variety I think.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
