So, what exactly eats slugs, we are told hedgehogs do, but have you ever seen one eat a slug, most hedgehogs are flat, in fact you dont even see them dead on the roads around here anymore.:frown:

Frogs, lots of frogs, never seen one tucking into a slug, only thing I've ever seen attempt a slug is a crow, and that spent the best part of 5 minutes trying to wipe the slime off, before giving up and leaving a dead slug behind.

Snails, we used to see the odd thrush hammering a snail against a stone.
Not seen a thrush for years.

I dont think its down to pellets, more loss of habitat.

Ducks eat slugs. You don't actually need a pond big enough for them all to swim around in, just enough to have a quick dip (although they will quickly splash it out and turn all around into a muddy mess).

But they poo everywhere, trample plants, eat plants, compact the soil surface and can be rather noisy. We looked after somebody else's ducks for a while and were glad to see them go.

We kill off the pretors, then we try to get the pretors back by feeding then, we change they're diet and over feed them so they don't go looking for they're food because someone put it on a plate for them, we have to find a balance when feeding the wildlife

I feed the wildlife but not over feed them, i've notice one hedgehog about in the last few nights, (yes i feed him/she) he/her goes to the place where i put the food about 6 times last night but he/she allways goes off looking else where

@Jiffy That looks a bit like a high fashion display. Was the frog marching up and down the Frog Walk?
