Mike's Meanderings

I thought I'd start this thread on places I visit near here where I live, maybe it would be of interest to someone.

There's a country park near my village but I'd never been there, so one summer day when I didn't feel like working in the garden I went to have a look.
I hope you enjoy the photos

I saw this Red Admiral butterfly near the lake ...



There were not many wild flowers but I saw these Sheep's Bit Scabious ...



And Rose Bay Willowherb going to seed ...



After walking around the lake there's a nice place where you can have a coffee (and something to eat if you wish)




There's a legend to go with this lake but there's a legend with everything around here so I won't bore you with it
I hope anyone who looked in enjoyed my photos

 

What a beautiful place Michael and I love thee little oast house (if that is what it is called). A nice outing for you ... perhaps you need a dog to go along with you.

 

Thank you @Victoria, that building was labelled 'Discovery Tower' but it was empty and locked up. I don't know what it originally was or if it's new.

I was thinking of a dog as I was walking around the lake but if I had one I don't think Bella cat would be pleased She hisses at all the dogs she sees and actually frightens some of them

Hi Michael,..beautiful location and i loved the images,..a very interesting Thread Heading,..lots of scope there so i for one will be looking in with interest.

Have you considered offering to be a dog walker ?, either for an elderly neighbour perhaps or for one who has to work??
We have a lot round here who do it as a career now.

That wouldn't upset Bella then, and you would have a walking companion ..happiness around! .

I called it that @glengarry23 because there are some gardens near here where one can visit and also places like this country park which are not really gardens, as well as hills and sea shore. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

There's a nice little dog somewhere who is waiting with a waggy tail to share your walks Michael .

 

Nice place Michael Hewett we have a lake here and it's lovely walking around it.

 

I went to see the National Botanic Garden of Wales, it's near here where I live, although I haven't visited it for 10 years (funny how one doesn't bother with what's on one's door step)
It's big and you can't see it all in one visit unless you spend the whole day there.

Super images Michael,..what an interesting location,..one could spend a good few hours enjoying a tour there,..no you haven't posted too many images,..just keep them coming

What a lovely outing and thank you for sharing it Michael. What a unique domed building and I always enjoy seeing wildflowers often so different from various regions.
