Mint like plant growing from a woody base?

    That wide lower lip is typical of the flower of a Salvia microphylla or S gregii, they are virtually identical and classed together. There are lots of different cultivars with different coloured flowers. Salvias are fairly closely related to mint. You can see some here http://www.dysonsalvias.com/salvia-catalogue-m-w/

    They are said to be not very long lived, but it's pretty easy to take cuttings.

      The leaf shape looks like S.microphylla or Salvia x jamensis (S.gregii leaves are longer and less broad with less pronounced veins). Too many cultivars of each to say much more than that although Salvia x jamensis "Peter Vigeon" has similar pale pink almost lilac flowers.
