    Hello all

    I hope you are well.

I am looking at patching a few areas of my lawns and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice for mixing Grass Seed with Topdressing before applying it.

I know you put the Topdressing and the Grass Seed in a bucket and mix it together to make the mix, however, what proportions do I need when mixing them together?

I did look into using something like Patch Magic but if I use that then the Grass Seed would not blend into the surrounding lawn.

Hopefully the above makes sense :)

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

If it’s just a few patches just prepare the patches, seed and lightly cover then keep damp as this hot weather will be an issue if they germinate and sudsy dry out.

    Hello @Liz the pot

    Thanks for the reply.

There are a few patches, however, they are pretty deep so I thought mixing the seed with the topdressing would fill the areas whilst also seeding at the same time.

I will just fill the areas first, level it and then seed.

I guess I am just over thinking it, everyone needs a hobby, right :)

    Thanks

    Kevin

I have used Patch magic, and the results were not very good. It is very expensive as well. I would follow Liz the Pots advice above.
