So I have a mole making hillocks of soil on my lawn. I'm familiar with trapping them, I've caught them before using a scissor trap, but this one seems to be outsmarting me by piling up soil in and on top of the trap.

Can anyone think of a way that I can catch this smart wee beastie?

      Hi,

We have only ever had one mole in the lawn and like you it proved dificult to catch it.

Rather than put traps in the lawn, look for the signs of its main Run into your garden and place the trap in that run as they seem to go back and forth quiet a lot, it worked the following night for us.

We used new traps, but rub them with soil first to mask the smell of the trap.

use gloves when setting trap so your smell isn't on trap as well

Thanks both of you for the advice - I do use gloves and will see if I can find the main run.
