Really looking forward to the big full moon, but looking at Sheal's link, I'm sure that I've read somewhere that it won't be that close again for 800+ years? And how come 1948 is 'beyond living memory'??
Ah well, fingers crossed that the sky is clear!

I tried a few shots from the bedroom window as the moon rose this evening. Fiddled around trying different camera settings and managed to get one or two decent photos. :)

No camera images, only the images imprinted on my mind. There was a point late last night where the moon was not only big and bright but had rings around it very much in the colours of the rainbow: really pretty! The coloured rings didn't last for long (less than an hour, I'm guessing) but it was quite something

We walked to the front gate, standing in the light of the moon. Normally it is dark, away from the security light at the house, but it was bright enough tonight to make out each other's facial features. It is beautiful.

Lots of really nice pictures on this thread!

@Sheal I started a new thread on here and put up my Supermoon photos in case anyone wanted to view them:smile:

Good photos @Trunky and they have come out very well and at least you have them forever :blue thumb: We saw the very large moon as we were driving home but by the time we got back to our village and parked the car it had risen higher so didn't look as big and with my small camera they don't look as good but they will do for me:snorky:

@"M" I love those halo moons which are caused by water droplets and they look even better with the rainbow effect:blue thumb:

@Baymule at least you both made the effort to go outside to see the moon something that not enough people do as they are all indoors in the warm:biggrin:

@wiseowl the moon was hidden like that for me last night but I stuck it out to get some photos as I was cursing at the clouds to move which they did in the end although by then the moon didn't look as large:smile:
