Bananaman got me into this group years ago, and strangely I heard it on my Portuguese radio station (M80 ... that's prounced emm oitenta) today coming home from the river... I think they are wildly brilliant (t'other half is not so keen) ...

Can a Mod please merge the two Music threads together please, ie, What I Like and What I Am Listening to .. thank you ... xx

Listening to now: Mozart's Symphony no. 38.

Since the passing of most of the legendary jazz/blues singers that were born around the beginning of the last century there have been few singers to match them (Amy Winehouse was coming close).

Dianne Reeves is a very good modern version of them :dbgrtmb:

This is an older style song by her (which I prefer)

and a slightly more modern one (after the ad, the sound doesn't start until about 20 secs into the track)

I like the Cyndi Lauper version of that song. Yet somehow the joyous schmaltzy version above just sounds too self-satisfied for my current mood. In fact, listening to it makes me feel like someone who has just gambled away all their money hearing that their neighbour has just come into millions.

I like all type of music and listing it when I free. Gardening with musics is a very good task. I hear my own created album during gardening . My favorite song is " stay with me".

Just clearing out my You Tube favourites and remembered this thread.
Sigur Ros are one of the greatest live acts that you will see, but for there latest album they offered up and coming film makers the opportunity to do what they want with a track with a completely free hand (ie; whatever you want) - this is my favourite.....................

              David Bowie at his finest......................

From my younger days - Ride were a local band who almost made it huge. Sadly they disintegrated but Andy Bell went on to play in Mercury Rev and Oasis................

And the Jesus and Mary Chain.................
