Maybe the neighbour feels a bit awkward at having had a telling off, no matter how nicely you did it. She obviously realised you weren't being unreasonable. Could you take her bins in one day if you are available to show no hard feelings and start the ball rolling again?

Can't really as that's when we are both at work. I used to take them in every week but now the council changed the day when they collect them to a day I'm working.

Wouldn't get overly concerned, at least they're quiet now :) It's a shame but that's all.

We get on very well with one side and don't speak to the other and while we constantly make the effort to be friendly to all our nearest neighbours in the street there is still a couple that are so damned hard to get along with I simply can't be bothered with them anymore. I've better things to do...

Things are getting ridiculous now. I caught the 11 year old boy stuffing weeds into my drain at the front of the property. When I asked him quite angrily why he had done this he told me he had left them there and was going to pick them up shortly. Judging by how far they were stuffed into my drain I doubt that was the case.

Was watching him yesterday chucking something into my front garden bed from his but I'm not sure what it was, looked like more weeds.

Is there anything I can do to protect my garden from being further wrecked by this kid. Any laws etc?

This sounds a very tricky situation, the kid might be doing this to get a reaction from you or just being a kid.

I'd just let it go to be honest unless he does more naughty stuff and then you could speak to his mum. This will probably cause more bad feelings though so like John says, it's a tricky situation. And remember you have to live next door to these people. You don't want it to get worse.

Well you've already had a word with the child and he is presumably reacting to something his mother has said at home. Some narky little offhand comment no doubt. I'd let it go for a short while but if it continues you won;t have many options. Perhaps film the activity and show this to his mum and state you're not taking it further if all the silliness stops. Take chocs and say in your head 'don't choke on these will you...'
