    Never give up @Tidemark

That happened only a month ago. It's not only sun and sea in Croatia.

Glad you are OK. I'm harvesting some first early potatoes, courgettes, peas and the strawberries are still producing. The usual salads etc. I only pick for us to eat, unlike your large harvests.

Good evening all. Greetings from sunny Croatia. It's again above 30℃. As I said before, we have extremely odd year. It's too hot, or too cold, and plants don't look too good. Last Saturday was very hot, then storm arrived and next morning was only 9℃, and day after again hot. Potatoes field are devastated with blight, and some other veggies are almost gone. I still have a lot to do with harvesting chard, courgettis, beans. Beets look very good, and I hope to have a good harvest. Few days ago I sown winter radishes, and tomorrow will do the same with turnips, swede and winter lettuce. Tomatoes and cucumbers are recovered from the storm in May. They are both producing, but will wait a bit more for the first tomatoes. If someone need courgettis and chard I'll send.

Two days ago, while I was harvesting chard, spider jumped on my hand. I see them for the first time here, and they are quite big, around 5cm. They fold chard leaves and make nest inside. Do I need to say that I don't like spider at all. Sorry for the picture.

Good to hear from you. You probably know this but if you can cut the tops off the potatoes you may be able to save most of the crop, it will stop the blight getting down into the tubers.
