Yes - you can pick up a Nectar card at any Sainsburys and then contact Nectar to have that card linked with your account that has the £37.50 in it - - then, when you present the card at the till at Sainsburys when buying shopping, you can spend £35 from your Nectar card and that is deducted from the price of your shopping.

Must be something wrong with me, as I dont use any of those places that accept the points anyway.
It all seems to be based on spending on things that are not usual, apart from sainsurys perhaps.
So I''m guessing they will stay in the letter they sent me.
Pity you cant spend them on the essentials.

      Yes!

Do you not have one? If not obtain one as advised above.

So Sainsburys, Argos & Homebase don't sell any 'esentials'?

such as champagne? £36.99/b0ttle in Sainsburys http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sain...ellow_label_ponsardin_nv_champagne_750ml.html

So double up £20's worth of Nectar Points to £40 of champers vouchers, buy a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Ponsardin NV Champagne for £36.99 that's £30 at Tesco so £6.99 brand match voucher back making it (£20-£6.99 =) £13.01 for a bottle of champers, even when losing £2.01 £1 in points (because they're doubled).

I'm off to Sainsburys tomorrow to stock up with bargain champagne and cheap luxury ice cream, more bargain stuff for Xmas & New Year.

Just checked - I have £82.15 stashed in nectar points... That's the Christmas shop taken care of:)
They also appear to have massively expanded where you can spend them - http://www.nectar.com/spend.points

Nectar has gotten a LOT better. I was working at Barclays when it came out, Barclays was one of the banks pushing it at the time. It was an awful loyalty card, the points amounted to next to nothing and you couldn't spend them anywhere! My balance is back to mere pence, I'm a sod for clearing it out whenever I'm in sainsburys, even if it's the minimum £2.50

I have loyalty cards for anywhere and everywhere, if I shop in a shop that gives me points I use it, they mount up and such as in the summer I required a new toaster, I was passing Sainsburys, not easy as 14 miles away, and called in for something else, noticed they had a nice toaster reduced, used my nectar points amassed on E bay, been saving the points on my Morrisons petrol card for years, don`t fill up there much as usually more expensive. but it will be a fiver off my shopping someday.
