Hello Liz not sure if you can see any clearer in these pics but I've tried to attach the new pics here.

It's not uniform all over, it's in patches. Or should I say uniform patches all over.

To me it looks like because grass was overgrown it was blocking sunlight and thus appears yellow but I could be wrong

Pre seeding fertilizer was granules and was applied with recommended rate with a broadcast spreader. It was spread out evenly.

Prior to this for couple years there was no grass I had it all covered as when I bought this house it was wild bushed and weeds only which I had removed and covered it for a year and a bit as couldn't afford all the work then.

        That’s great thanks.
I don’t think it’s yellow due to lack of light to be honest. I take it you calibrated the drop rate ie. it has a Collection base for checking the amount dropped over a set area.
If say you were under that will have a knock on effect on what levels was spread over as it’s known as a straight fertiliser.

have these areas suddenly appeared and are they growing in size and more appearing?

couple of checks as it’s been wet and warm.

First check if when you look very closely at the tips of the grass plant can you see a pink or red tips. Not every tip will have this colour so a hard look is required.

second check is early in the morning have a close look to see if you can see what looks like a spider web on the grass, look at the patches and the healthy areas.

It’s very hard over the Internet to diagnose exactly what is going on but we can start at some basic stuff and then go from there. It may just be a case of a deficiency of one of the nutrients that the plant requires to help keep its green colour or 1 or more diseases.
it could be the pH level too, unfortunately a soil test would really need to be taken to full understand what your soil is like.
It’s not unusual if say it’s red thread to see the patches increase in size and more patches appear for example.

Yes it was calibrated prior to use.

As I mentions the top of the grass was bit long and very dark vibrant green, lush and healthy looking when i mowed it i saw the yellowing so I only saw the yellowing once i mowed the grass on sunday.

I have not been able to get round to do the checks i will do it today once i get home after work and then tomorrow early morning.

I will try and get the soil test sorted as soon as possible. Also in terms of patches from when i noticed them on Sunday afternoon it only appears to be reducing if anything.

I’ll attach a photo showing a typical red thread tip. It’s very common and with the recent wet weather it appears then disappears quickly and is more unsightly than doing long term damage for most lawns.
The soil test will show what’s going on for sure then at least you have a working method to aim for as it sounds like you are putting in the hard work to have a nice lawn.

Hey Liz I have had a look at the lawn there are no red tips however the yellow spots are all the dead grass looks like it's not getting enough nutrients and it's struggling to survive.

I have had a few pics takes to show what I meant by some are very healthy green and growing at a rapid rate

You can see the ones that are growing are thick healthy green grass blades... All the very fine grass aren't growing and turning yellow and dying out.

Please help u don't want to ruin all my hard work.

I'm tempted to spray weed and feed it'll atleast give them nutrients but I'm not sure if that's right coarse of action

Hello, first off don’t spray a herbicide. Refresh my mind but how long is it since you seeded?

What are you comfortable with regarding feeds, granular or liquid?

I seeded it about 20th of April and it all sprouted OK a d what I think is some established well and rest are now struggling.
I would be happy with either I got Broadcast spreader and knap back liquid sprayer too I think liquid sprayer would be easier

That’s great, what’s the make and model of the knapsack? Is the bar pressure adjustable and what nozzles have you got?

You can get away with a basic one but the spray pattern may not be correct and you might apply to little or too much but the good news is there’s less chance of scorching with liquid it’s just you might not get the correct rate.
You could try a very simple seedweed based feed or you are then moving into expensive outlay.
