Well I used my favourite red handled trowel yesterday, today can I find it no! It should have been in the shed, but no, nor was it where I used it yesterday, no nor is it anywhere I worked yesterday; rummage through the top foot of the compost heap, no.
It has done this before just legged it, once it was AWOL for two years. That was when I bought a replacement with a green handle that is currently in the greenhouse and no the red handled one is not in there having a natter.

I have a remedy for that @NigelJ. Have one of those large flexi tubs beside you as you work and put your hand tools in it rather than down on the ground when you move on to something else. This guarantees that you will always find the tool in the bin .

@Plantminded I normally do, radio, tools insulated coffee container in one, weeds in the other. Then I have to go back to the shed to get the coffee container when I need it the next day.
Yesterday there were two tubs of weeds, normally I drop the tools etc off at the shed, before the final compost heap run.

@Plantminded Sadly, even small bins have also been known to stray
