Doubt you will find any Grape Vine worthwhile in small greenhouse, plus with children around we would avoid them anyway as the ripening grapes are a magnet for Wasps and Hornets, as we found when we tried one on the patio and up the house wall.

Ah not such a good idea then ,stick with fresh salad etc and your home produced wine or from supermarket
you will still enjoy your greenhouse plus all the help from this forum plus one thing you might be able to do is mix your veg. amongst your border plants .....sort of camouflaged !!!!:dig::parsnip::idea::pepper::leek::carrot::planting::hapflower:

If it's too small then, and I can't get anything useful or interesting in there I might have to just get rid of it. Use the greenhouse as a make weight for the chickens and a small raised bed. It's in the best position for the sun and away from exposure to the winds, but can't get anything bigger in the same space.

You can still do lots in a small greenhouse. My small ones are 6wx4d so 24 square feet. You'll have 5 more square feet in yours. I grow super hot peppers, herbs etc in mine. And I have a very short growing season so I start the seedlings indoors first. In the winter I use the space to store pots and all sorts of things and tnis year round usage is a bonus!

If you use the greenhouse and find it's not viable, then take it down. But try first, I think you'll be surprised at what you can do!

Do you heat yours for chilli's? I have zero experience with anything exotic (peas carrots beetroot, onion and potatoes so far!) Or greenhouses at all. The basics like the window openers never occurred to me. I was quite pleased with my first year of growing in some long borders, but with space now a premium and time becoming more precious I don't want to become disheartened. Grapes would of been good as it feeds into my love of alcohol!

@beefpotnoodle I do have a heater in the 6wx8d greenhouse but it is only used at the beginning of spring and the end of autumn so as to keep the peppers at a minimum of 40f. I start new plants every December 26th indoors. You can make booze out of all sorts - not just grapes and there are some experts here in that discipline :)

Is there anyway you could try and get an allotment? Then you could start your stuff off in your Little greenhouse and take them to your lotty.

I start stuff indoors in heated propagators and under growlights, then move into a heated greenhouse, and as everything expands really fast, move into polytunnels, then plant most stuff out in open ground, and a few remaining plants in polytunnel borders.

Do you also use your username on a homebrew forum, as I thought I recognised it?

Like Scrungee and Canadian Lori I start things off indoors (garage) under grow lights and with a heater. Chillis go in sometime January to early February, tomatoes later in February to early March. They then go to the unheated greenhouse under agricultural fleece with extra covering at night. Although if it promises to be particularly cold they will get taken indoors.
