Bought this new hose from Costco the other day:

It was supposed to have two different types of connector, but when I opened the packaging there were two of one type of connector, instead of one of each, and I couldn't be bothered to go back to Costco. Trouble was I couldn't find a female to female connector anywhere which was a shame - as you can see on the right it has a screw on end where the connector goes but the hose end which screwed on was male and the sprayer and most hose attachments require a female connector.

I decided to cut the brass bit off and attach a conventional hose end, but because it's 5/8" the ones I had didn't fit properly (they did fit but it was leaking). I went to B&Q and bought this Karcher one for a fiver, which was the only one to fit a 5/8" hose. Unfortunately it was useless so I took it back. Back to the drawing board!

I then ordered this one online (still Karcher but the premium one), which was a perfect fit and not a drop of a leak, so am chuffed.

The hose lets a lot more water through than the conventional sized one I had previously, so the pressure's much better, hence less time spent watering my 60+ containers.

The picture on the left shows the end which connects to the tap - more secure and easier to attach to the tap as you turn it with the casing.

As with my other non-kink hose, there is a ridge on the inside of the hose (which runs the length of the hose to stop it kinking) which needed to be removed a couple of cm down (I used some nail scissors to cut a section at the top out).

It sounds faffy and it would've been easier to go back to Costco to get the right part, but in the end I am absolutely chuffed with the new hose and the time it's going to save me
