New mower

Hi all,

my first time in 'lawns', please be gentle

Well today after getting home from shopping, we noticed our front lawn had been cut by the council. We edge it so they usually leave it alone but i suppose cos it hadn't been cut yet they decided to do it(must say they did a good job, hardly had any mess, no cut ups across the lawn).

Anyway, made me feel guilty so decided to do the back. It's only a small space. Started then thought i could smell burning. called hubby, he tips it up & says 'no that's alright, carry on'.

2 minutes later there's smoke coming out :eek: Out comes hubby, 'un plug it' he shouts. Turns it over 'knackered' he says.

Rushed to B&Q. 'Only getiing a cheap one' he says. I flip i think, another piece of c**p.

Straight in the shop door and what's there a mower at half price. Apparently it had been returned cos the buyer didn't like it. The manager had tried it out & it was ok but cos it was 'second hand' reduced it. It had a bit of loose grass around it which you think they would have cleaned up but otherwise spotless.

Came home & finished the lawn with a much quieter, much easier mower for �£35. Hows that for a bargain

Now all i need it to get in level. Only been here 10 years, so got ages yet according to your posts :D
