New Zealand Flatworm

Yuk! Just dug up this beastie, like an outsize (6") leech. As I've spent the last six years trying to encourage earthworms to improve the soil here, I can do without thugs like this decimating them...
I wonder whether it's French/Kiwi or English/Kiwi? Whatever it is, the chickens will make short work of it...adieu sucker

 

Havnt heard much about these for years do we still have in the UK or has the bad winters sorted them out ?
I have only ever seen one before it was as tough as rubber and the birds woudnt touch it

My chooks would look at that, turn their noses up and say: mealworms - if you want eggs!

 

Ah but my chickens are on their final written warning They've been thoroughly spoiled and I'm still only getting three eggs a day from five hens. They get into pest control or it's chicken marengo time.....
