Well, after getting a replacement battery that didn't have the right number of wires, sending it back (over xmas) and getting a new one yesterday. I discovered the fuse had blown.

Changed that, that blew straight away.

Found out the wires on the charger had split

So thats nearly 4 weeks of no telly, £24 wasted all for something that took me 2 minutes and a bit of electrical tape to fix :gaah:

We all have a similar tale to your Ziggy . Ain't it amazing that the last thing you fix cures the problem  Also somebody will always say why did you not check that in the first place.

            Yep

            Reminds me of something...

Once upon a time there was a dark dark universe,

and in that universe there was a dark dark galaxy,

in that dark dark galaxy there was a dark dark solar system,

in that dark dark solar system there was a dark dark planet

on that dark dark planet was a dark dark continent,

on that dark dark continent there was a dark dark city,

in that dark dark city was a dark dark house,

in that dark dark house there was a dark dark room,

in that dark dark room was a dark dark cupboard,

and in that dark dark cupboard was a man trying to fix the fuse.

Electrical tape fixes so many things. When I used to do a fair bit of cycling, I quickly learned that you don't need to take loads of different tools and spares. Just a pair of pliers, an adjustable spanner, and a roll of electrical tape. Did you know that you can do a temporary puncture repair with such tape? You bind it tight around the punctured part of the inner tube, and it holds long enough to get you home. Its also good for taping broken brake cables to the frame so that they don't flop about and get in your spokes, you can use it to hold your luggage on.

I've made a number of car, bike and household repairs with electrical tape.

That would be The Law According To Sod.

@Zigs could run it on left over Sunny D moonshine.
