    No of course not.

I would find it impossible to stop myself from asking why they waited so long, and if they are telling the truth (and I would give everybody the benefit of the doubt, including accuser and accused), how they hope to do themselves justice having let enough time pass that evidence is going to be extremely difficult to acquire.

Public attitude is what it is. I'm not responsible for it. While you may be (and I believe are) sufficiently sound of mind to stick to what you believe, the majority of people are not. Proof of this sweeping statement exists in the form of reality TV shows such as X Factor, where the masses clearly demonstrate how they like what they are told to like. Consider this if you don't believe me. Two men, both famous, both popular, both dead. Jimmy Saville was accused of groping a few teenaged girls, and now he burns in hell as a peado. Micheal Jackson is accused of sleeping with young boys and abusing his own children, yet he rests as a legend. Why is that? Its because the masses were told what to think, so they thought it. Some women do try it on. I know this for absolute fact. That is of course unless I happen to be so virile that I can impregnate a girl just be standing in the same room as her with no physical contact while both fully clothed? It is common in my experience. It is sufficiently common that the topic occasional appears as a storyline on the various TV dramas, yet this fact is brushed under the carpet by our society. Hopefully less so going forward in light of recent events. Women know this every bit as much as men do, which is why some of them do try it on. I'm not suggesting for a second that everyone that makes an accusation should be assumed to be lying, nor am I suggesting that even if it doesn't go their way in court doesn't mean they are lying, but in ANY type of case, you have to look at it objectively. 20 years ago, somebody broke into my garage and nicked my brand new mountain bike. I know who did it. I could go to the police, but how on earth can I expect them to prove anything now? It is still my right to make that accusation if I want to, but objectively I know that if I wanted the police to handle it, I should have told them 20 years ago.

I would advise them to think carefully, and make sure they had a good chance of proving their claims. Not because I'd automatically doubt them, but because I'd know that they would be subject to scrutiny for a long time, ruining someone else's life and possibly their own in the process, and unless, being purely objective, they genuinely believe they can win their case, then they are the ones that are going to be hurt.

Same as above. All my references above were to female accusers because that was the nature of the discussion. With the exception of false claims of immaculate conception, I can't see that much difference between a male victim/accuser and a female one.
