Why not tell us your reasoning and your chap's reasoning, if only for our continued entertainment:)

B&W will almost certainly be able to accommodate you with a repair - they are without doubt THE speaker manufacturer of choice, and their customer service is second to none. I've got a pair of DM601 that have served me well for years, and my brother in law has my DM602(S2)'s that I sold to him a few years ago - he is on pain of death that if he wants to sell them on, they come back to me (god knows where I will put them though )

Armstrong 626 - very rare beast, and quite complex I believe; I don't have a hell of a lot of experience with them I'm afraid. When does it crackle? (All the time, or only when volume or source controls are used?); given its age, it would be entirely fair for the de-coupling capacitors to be past their best, and to be honest it would be an easy one to eliminate (whip the lid off, and have a look at them - if they look swollen or leaky, then they are shot).

Your Marantz record deck is almost certainly wanting a drive belt too - Bandridge used to be the company of choice for them years back, but I don't think they exist any longer; I think (not sure) that they are now part of a company called electrovision.co.uk - could be worth a look to see if they can help; or you could try CPC Farnell, or even Maplin.

The 'clues' from clue do nothing for me as I have not lived in the UK for many years, either before or after he was born ....

I am just trying to do things by memory from the forum and a search has not given me any 'clues' ... there's a lot of that going around here :dunno: ... and clue was here and then gone for personal reasons and came back again ... and he had a kid in the meantime if I remember correctly who is about three years of age or thereabouts ... but I don't think he (clue not the kid) has attained the grand age of 40 yet ... but I may be wrong ... or he would have told us ... :heehee:

He is only just now trying to figure out how to do a BBQ for goodness sake ...

So, guys, here are your 'clues' ... :what:

CORRECTION: I said I was 4 when I left Yorkshire without even moving, but I think that's wrong. I'm now not sure I was born in Yorkshire at all:doh:

All the other clues are still valid, and the Yorkshire connection can be adapted such that I moved to Yorkshire when I was 22, even though I didn't actually relocate that year.

I'm betting that this erroneous clue is sent Madahlia's chap down his route of reasoning.

Well, If Carl Douglas lied in the year of your birth -fact a- I don't see how you could have gone to school before Maggie snatched the milk because so did I and that doesn't fit with fact a.
