    We're going to Turkey, this year and we will be able to pick them off the trees. It's also a sort of ritual, you pick a couple of ripe Pomegranates off of a tree then you all sit under a shady spot , pull them apart and have a chat. As I said to you, roders, the Cretans and the Turks have got to be the most, naturally, friendly people in the world.

    I think this is Araucaria Heterophylla (Norfolk Island Pine) a very spectacular architectual tree against the Cretan skyline.........I think LoL has them as well in Portugal as well.

    Evening, my dearest, and also to you miraflores.

    Yes, I have a Norfolk Island Pine up on the deck, albeit very small (sort of like me) and that is one lovely photo of them. I got a nice pic of one when we went to Spain on Saturday (but the pic was in Portugal).

    The second one I've been told is a Washingtonia fillifera, by BM and pete has confirmed this, so be it ... [​IMG] to you guys ...

    I'll give it one more try...
    washingtonia robusta (I also had a suggestion from pretty reliable source...)
