OMG what's happening to my new plant???

    Agree JWK, it does. It also makes a comfy home for woodlice, weevils and all sorts of nasties. :noidea:
    Nothing is 100% suitable but the benefits of mulching outweigh the downsides :)

      Well after hunting 3 garden centre's yesterday where the plants needed a good watering and for the money they looked drained out the poor things...so no way was a paying a large price again..so hubby popped me to morrisons and brought 2 Snapdragon plants in white £2 each and hubby put them in for me today and the other plant was wrecked they was munching into the stems at the roots.

      I've read that you can make Snapdragons perennial plants by cutting back the outer stems and leaving the centre a fraction longer and come winter cover them with mulch and if it's windy to add extra cover and it's worth trying plus they don't attract slugs.

                I have a large pot that used to have a beautiful bay tree in until it died one bad winter :dunno: :cry3: So I bought a Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum’ from Morrison’s
