Remembering our little angel today on her anniversary, so we went to the garden centre for some new plants and a candle to light in remembrance.

These are anemone 'September Charm' that we already had since last year, we bought them because the name anemone means 'daughter of the wind' and then the fact her anniversary is in September, we felt they were a fitting tribute. They've since become my favourite flower.

        image.jpeg

Today we added anemone 'splendens' which is a more vibrant pinky purple, and very pretty.

        And also, anemone 'Dreaming Swan'

        image.jpeg

This little kitten turned up in our garden on Tuesday, and hasn't left! We felt so sorry for it in the rain all day Tuesday so we put out a spare cat carrier that we had so it could shelter from the rain and gave it some food. We've said if it's still in the garden tomorrow we will pop it to the vets to see if its microchipped, and health checked. It seems to have adopted us, but we will see whether it's already got a home and family before falling too in love!

        image.jpeg

We also planted daffodil, allium, fritillary and anemone bulbs ready for spring.

Candle burning brightly for our beautiful angel.

A new member here so a late reply, my heart goes out to you, I'm so glad your garden gives you peace, I've lost my son, not physically but mentally, and my garden too gives me peace.

Been outside this evening pulling out bindweed which gets everywhere, must keep on top of it, we don't use chemicals so it's an ongoing battle pulling it up by hand.

A tranquil place to sit and think.

Must get out and take some pics of some other new additions to the garden, and next on the wish list is another water feature for the sound of splashing water to add to the ambience. This little girl water feature is beautiful but very quiet, so need to find something else to compliment this one.

After much deliberation about whether to move or whether to stay we have made the decision (for now at least) to stay where we are!

But, to keep us busy for a while there are going to be some big changes to the garden, sorting out things that have outgrown the garden, or need repositioning, it's going to get a revamp.

Slightly nerve wracking as it will look worse before it looks better, but fingers crossed it will then look so much better, and be even more wildlife friendly. So many ideas. This years pics so far.

We always like to see a good renovation job! Have you planned it out yet?

Our garden is currently a mix of mud, water and tyre trenches...

Oh the mud! With our 15 month old golden retriever bringing it in on her huge paws!

Glad it's not just our garden suffering at the moment!

                          :yahoo:

We've got a few ideas, but haven't put pen to paper yet, need to try and think it out this time rather than just putting everything in higgledy-piggledy!

Oh @Sienna's Blossom ,why haven't I come across your beautiful thread before!!
My heart cries out you and your family for the loss of your precious angel.
I lost 2 babies during pregnancy, one was towards the end and was a beautiful little boy. I know the rest of the family never got to know him ...but I did as I felt his kicks / movements and could even touch him when an arm or leg would prod me!!:)

Although both would now be 33 and 32 to this day I remember their passing and their birth due dates and shed a tear or two. But I count my blessings as I know if things had been different we wouldn't have been blessed with our gorgeous middle son .

Love and hugs to you all.xx

Thank you so much for your lovely post @Upsydaisy and I am so sorry for your losses too, those memories are so precious aren't they, and carry you through the darkest days, and will stay with your forever.

I find her birthday and date of passing hard too and almost always get a new garden addition whether plant or ornament or even just something for the birds to help honour those dates, gardening has been such a huge part of our journey through the bereavement.

She would be turning 12 in April, and I have so many ideas for the garden, it's helping me to stay positive.
