      I expect the head was powerless against the inexorable force of Mrs "M"!

      I'll bet your lads were not given any work. if Michael Gove or anyone else starts suggesting that teachers should be setting work for children who are not even on the premises there'd be long faces in the staffrooms. It is really hard to dish out meaningful work a week in advance, most worksheet options these days require considerable explanation for anyone who wasn't in the room to make sense of them. Happily, your family was too busy enjoying themselves to notice the omission, I trust?

          WTF is he on?! You can't go knocking on peoples doors to tell them their kids should be doing something, you'll get smacked in the face! Quite rightly too.
          Paid informants, brown shirts, snitches, grasses, whistleblowers... This damned government are just nuts.
          Teachers already report it if there's suspicion of poor parenting and risk to the child but the councils do nothing until they're found dead but which point they seem to think an inquiry will fix it all. I can feel my blood pressure going through the roof...
