    This variety is unknown.

Beingg grown in the poly tunnel near the back in soil.

Wife spotted this today and several others have it too. DSCF2146[1]a.jpg

Is this a problem or normal and nothing to worry about?

    Thanks in advance,

    PH

I'm thinking some sort of spider mite, but not sure...

I've never come across this, but then I've never grown peas under cover, to me they are pretty hardy and good enough outside.
So just thinking it might be heat related.

No, not spider mite.. Have never seen that though..

I have a poly tunnel and have found that in mine it is far too hot to grow peas and they struggled to produce many peas, and those that did manage were not sweet.. Nor do they like the drops of condensation falling on them..

Maybe eggs from a moth or butterfly perhaps.? Especially if hidden at the back..

Actually, that could be a good call @Marley Farley - look near the tip on the right hand side, there is what looks to be a very small, white weevil/caterpillar

My thoughts, for what they are worth, is that the maggot is just the usual pea moth that is fairly normal, you mostly only see them when you open the pod.

I'm not sure that mass on the outside of the pod is anything to do with it.
        Have you rubbed it off?
What are the peas like inside?

White globules are wet and seem to contain nothing and the peas are fine, we opened the pod in the pic which had 6 lovely peas inside.
