Here are my Red Velour plants that I grew from seed which I collected from plants last year.

There was some worry that as they are F1 hybrid plants they wouldn’t produce identical plants and I think that’s right. They are very similar but some of the colours are a deep magenta pink, however most of them are red so I’m not too disappointed.

Quite pleased with the result as I have 2 hanging baskets and about 8 pots, all for no financial outlay!

First flowers for this years Petunia Tidal Eave Red Velour which were grown from seed collected from last years plants, which in turn were collected from the previous years plants, seems to be working out!

I also put a few plants in my pot of cosmos, I wanted something vibrant by the front door.

My pots of Petunia Tidal Wave Red Velour were definitely worth saving seeds for, not all are as red as the original ones but I’m still happy with the result.

Did you think about keeping cuttings @CatDouch ? I kept cuttings of a velvet black petunia in my cold greenhouse and they grew well through the winter and gave me quite a head start. IMG_20250624_125539196_HDR.jpg
And of course staying true to colour.

No I didn’t think of that @CarolineL When do you take a cutting? I’m not too confident with the process for that?
