T'other half had to go to Aldi today to buy an HD Satellite Receiver so I naturally had to buy something ... and it was a pack of seeds of these beans as I love green beans (of course, this was before we went to the shopping center and he couldn't find his cable but I found a lovely pair of shoes .... :heehee:).

Anyway, I digress, to the beans ... does anyone grow these and, if so, any tips ... :Thanx: in advance.

I just did a google and see you're growing kidney beans.

I dont think its common to grow them here.
I buy the canned ones, you dont have to worry about getting poisoned then:D

Hmmm, I thought 'Processor' was of the Mangetout family and like a French Bean of the Haricot family ... can I not eat them in their pods? I got these because I love Sugar Snap Peas and Mangetout and they are not readily available here so thought I could grow something similar ...

Shows what I know about edible gardening ... :loll:

I have some Spring Onion seeds too as my friend grows them with great success in pots here and they are delicious. Radishes were a woody nightmare for me a couple of years ago. CherryTomato are okay but ripen too quickly. Bean Sprouts in the dark are okay as is Cress on a paper towel ... :heehee:

Dont really know Vicky, I only ever grew peas and runners, dont think these types were available a few years ago in the UK anyway.

Surely though Mangetout is a pea rather than a bean.

There are so many beans, with varying names, it all gets confusing.

Well judging by the instructions its not a UK site, and we all use different terms for different things.

All I can say is, what colour are your seeds?
But I think if I asked for Mangetout in a supermarket here I'd get flat pea pods. Not beans.

The pic on my seed packet looks just like the first one on the link I put ... and I have now opened the pack ... and they are little white seeds ... :heehee:

Time perhaps will tell ... that is, if I am successful ... :loll:

Nice having this non-exotic discusion with you Pete ... :D
