Have dealt with Parkers for many years. Very good for Lily bulbs and roses. I recently bought two collections of roses, sadly there was a shortage. No probs. Missing ones arrived almost by return of post. Actually I still have two roses that I bought from them back in 1964. These are the kind of businesses that are well worth staying with.

I ordered 3 lots of plug plants in past 3 years and in my experience i either buy seeds or strong established plants now online no plug plants , i dont know why but plug plants die even when i bought them at lidl or garden centrers

I ordered this year some plants from garden express and when they came they were well packed and much bigger than i thought also i too have also ordered a few plants from brookside nurseries which should arrive soon

Janet. No disrespects but. Having bought plugs.Plants etc and they die, suggests problems at your end. Please be honest and tell us what you do once the order arrives. We are your friends and we long to help you.

Mike , the Brookside I use is in Tamworth, Staffs. They do a good range of Fuchsia, not sure if they specialise in them though.

I have used Parkers for a couple of years now and am yet to be disappointed. The quality of the plants, the delivery means and the price are all to my liking and that coming from a tight Scot.

Sadly a bit of a hic-cup. As said before. I have traded with J.Parkers since the 1960's. I recently placed an order for two collections of plugs. One , collection of Polyanthus and Pansies. The second, a collection of Polyanthus. As always. Parkers provide custommers with a free gift. The freebie was. Some Muscari bulbs and some tulips.

            Freebies arrived soon after ordering.
Then The Polyanthus & Pansies came.
Somewhat bemused at the posting of bits and bobs of my order. I asked, when I might receive the remainder of my order. The reply came via email from Hermes. The couriers. My parcel would be delivered today at, 1400hrs -1600hrs. Zilch. Update to email. Due to unforseen circumstances, your parcel will be delivered ASAP.

Then today.5/9/19 Your parcel will be delivered today between 1600 hrs and 1800 hrs. ZILCH. Email update. Your courier has had to whatever. Your parcel will be delivered today between 1800 & 2000hrs. A van did stop outside but Zilch. Enough is enough. Have you ever tried contacting these company's????????

I contacted Parkers cancelling my order and asking for a refund, and wished them well with dealing with this courier.

Well! to say the least. Mike is really about to blow a fuse. I've been home all day as usual, and checked my emails many times, just in case some reply from Hermes or Parkers. Nowt. I contacted Hermes more than once via their online contact page, explaining my feelings regarding their service. No response. To my knowlege nurseries normally send out plants early in the week, to avoid delays in delivering. Anyway come 22.00 hrs I check my emails again. Hermes has delivered my parcel., and it was signed for. Well not by me. Almost falling down the stairs I checked outside. Zilch. Next to my front door is a brick built out building housing the disability scooter etc. The side window has a flap type opening part. My front door has a bold printed notice. Please put oversize mail through the window.

Restless night's sleep. Dreams of wing-heeled parcels everywhere. Spent much of the morning trying to sort out what had happened to my parcel. Where is it and, who signed for it. Managed to complete yet again the online problem page.

Have you experienced this. Pages and pages of utter rubbish. Suddenly a phone number. Of course, now i'm talking to a machine. I give up.

Cuppa and an attempt to calm down. phone rings. Daughter Amanda. Hi Dad, and how's you today? I was almost honest....totally PPPPPPPPPPP'ed off. Hi luv. Not very happy. I related my mornings work. She insisted on coming over. 3 mile drive. Quick cuppa and onto the computer. Over two hours later, she also was P'd off. Hermes basically denied all knowledge. I had to go through the retailer. Amanda rang Parkers. Full of apologies etc. Not their fault. No worries we will send a replacement order out in the next few days.

I will submit a piece for the local rag.

Well friends. Parkers came through. I and my daughter Amanda spent ages on line. No luck. Phone call to Parkers. All sorted. Suddenly the plants arrived some not looking too good. They soon picked up. Parkers, tell your dad to salvage what he can. A new order is being sent out. Hermes in the end did apologise.
I can't help thinking these couriers are being exploited. Delivering parcels at 2200hrs. Sod that for a lark.
