Just read tonight that anyone with Irish parents or grandparents (Northern Ireland or the Republic) is entitled to Irish Citizenship. As my grandad was Irish I could do this and then be part of the EU again :) I'll have at least a couple of years to weigh up the pros and cons.

Just to give you all a giggle, I was talking to my brother tonight & of course we were chatting about current affairs, it was all rather serious until my brother said ' oh god don't even talk to me about Corbyn, he couldn't run a bath!':lunapic 130165696578242 5::lunapic 130165696578242 5:.

Heavens, I will be glad when things settle down again. Our money is plastic and possibly pliable with heat. Now I see that there is no way to stretch my GBP because they are made of paper :heehee:

And next year, July 2017 marks 150 years since we had an amicable separation... we certainly get on a lot better than most marriage break downs. We still love our ex "inlaws". Hats, and matching purses and suits and shoes and 90 and still lovable :)

Looks more like a concertina exhaust pipe for a tumble dryer or even more like the pipes they use for draining our cess pool.

As I understand it the loans to the banks if needed will come from the reserves of foriegn currency which is additional to the £250 billion. The headline figure is for QE (quantitive easing).
Just the way that I understood what Mark Carney said so not gospel.

Ah but, the Scots were told that the only way that they could be certain to remain in the EU was as part of the UK. This one will go all the way to the European Court of Human Rights I reckon :roflol:

Back on topic. I've got a positive - for the rest of the world the value of the GBP has indeed stretched post referendum :hapydancsmil:

But here's one I took earlier, if it helps.

This is very positive, we need help to get this period of uncertainty over as quickly as possible:

"Operation Commonwealth: New Zealand offers UK top trade team to help in post-Brexit talks

BRITAIN’S golden new age of Commonwealth cooperation got under way with gusto as New Zealand offered a helping hand in securing trade deals with the world’s top economies.

The UK’s friends in Wellington are prepared to loan their world-class negotiators to help seal new agreements with global powerhouses like China, India and the US.

The Foreign Office is believed to have as few as 40 negotiators and almost none with any real experience, because our trade policy has been outsourced to Brussels for the last 43 years.

But despite the EU having an army of 550 negotiators of its own, it is New Zealand - with a population 4.4 million - that has managed to strike free trade deals with the world’s real big hitters and emerging economies including with China, the USA, Canada, the Gulf States, Singapore and Australia. "
