Foyle's war is about the only one I've watched, I kind of heard a new series has been made.

I find most of them far too long for the amount of content, they dont hold my attention.

Thank you to @cactus_girl for guiding me here. :blue thumb:

I watched precisely nothing on TV over Christmas, but have been looking forward to the second series of The Night Manager. The first was completely brilliant, from the exceptional opening credits onwards. This one, I'm not so sure, though admittedly I have only watched one episode so far. Lovely sets, etc, but what it is sorely lacking for me is charismatic baddies. The current crop are just run-of-the-mill arms dealers with no personality traits apart from a propensity to use violence as a first resort. I think you need to, if not like, then at least be fascinated by the adversaries.

        Anyway, early days. :)

I watched an animated film this weekend: "K-Pop Demon Hunters" on Netflix. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

New: series 13 of Digging for Britain on BBC.

Might not be interesting for everyone but we live here in archaeological territory.

I don't watch anything with Alice Roberts. She is supposed to be a scientist but goes around telling people that sex is not binary.

If you want to keep a job in academia or on the BBC, you have been obliged to adopt that stance for the last decade. Society is finally moving onto more sensible ground, but the last to catch up will be universities, the NHS, civil servants, and the BBC.

The only question really is; is the science she presents accurate and interesting. In this case the programme is on archaeology not sexuality.

Gender and sex are two separate things.
Sex is a complex spectrum ranging from 100% homo to 100% hetero, with a third axis ranging from as often as possible to na not my cup of tea. All of which are also affected by age among other things.
Gender in most mammals is genetically determined at conception into male and female, naked mole rats could be different as they are fully paid members of the awkward squad. Outside mammals it's more complicated, fish, insects and plants all have different controlling mechanisms sometimes environmental sometimes sociological.

@Escarpment I haven’t seen or heard anything what you said in Digging for Britain and I can claim to have seen all of them. I also watched her in Time Team years ago, or together with Neil Olliver in several programmes and many others. Her Ancestors are most enjoyable and I learned so much. We went to a book publishing tour for Tamed nearby, in none of these were made these remarks.

If you like house renovation programmes - I recommend ‘Banjo and Ro’s Grand Island Hotel’ iPlayer.

If you have Apple TV, I recommend the Slow Horses series. One of the best progs around. It’s a spy thriller. Gary Oldman is superb in it.
