    Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some recommendations for planting in the centre of a large(ish) border which is planted with 3 trees (Sango Kaku, Crab apple and a Cornus Florida Rainbow.) Ultimately, when the trees grow it will be quite shady (partial sun) however at the moment is quite sunny. The back fence is south (I.e north facing) whilst the bench is north.

I have already planted up some areas of the border around the bench and the water feature (corten steel bowl) but looking for inspiration for the central section between the trees and towards the back. The back fence is being covered with Star Jasmine....

I've included some photos of the area here from different angles as the border can be viewed on 3 different sides. I've also included the model of what it will be like when the plants that I have already planted grow. note - I haven't modelled the star Jasmine on the back fence.

Any help would be much appreciated.

For info the rest of the garden is finally coming together too. Here's the latest....

    Many thanks Ed

An evergreen, dome shaped grass like Cortaderia selloana pumila (dwarf pampas grass) would provide a focal point below the trees and cover the border, without providing too much competition. This one in my garden is ten years old.
