Pruning a container Buddleja

    A 12" x 12" would be about the right size for half a dozen pansies :)

      I had a Royal Red at my last house and it was really rampant and grew like billio. I usually gave the beast a good hacking back in March as it had a tendency to take over the raised bed it was in.

      Some of these buddlejas that are advertised as "dwarf" and suitable for pots are no such thing. I planted a white one in a pot and that grew like mad as well. I had to rehome it.

        I've got two dwarf Buddleia in pots and they do well. Also got the large versions and have just taken delivery of a white Buddleia from West Country Nurseries. Got three Buddleia cuttings I took last year to plant out too.

          They are dwarf...relatvely dwarf....but they need better treatment than the usual buddleias. Buddleia buzz ivory and magenta are two I grow (in the ground):)
