We have a small Chivers Delight apple tree - 3yr old now growing on MM106 rootstock. I'm not planning on pruning at the moment but wondered if anyone had an opinion on what to do with this variety.

Unlike any of the other apples we have gowing, this one seems to produce 2 branches virtually parallel to each other. I'm not sure if at some point one of these pair of branches will need to be pruned out in case the branches begin to rub together etc as the tree gets older - or should I just leave these as they are?

Any advice on whats best to do with this?

None of our other apples have these paired branches coming off the trunk. Maybe I've got a dud tree? Will phone Orange Pippin (who I bought it from) and see what they say.
