Pruning Weigela

    My weigela still has a few flowers on it, have I left it too late for pruning?

    Yes it is bill-Lancaster if you want next year’s flowers :)
    .you could take out one or two old stems to the ground but I would wait until after flowering and do it all then:)

        I agree with Verdun, thinning out is OK but otherwise it's rather late. Some of our Weigelias are starting to bloom again :rolleyespink:

        A very odd summer......many shrubs are blooming again or with bud. Most of the azaleas and rhododendrons are in bud but some are ready to flower!

          I don't usually prune mine. Only will take out stray branching near the base. see if there is any odd branch that rubs another to tight and cut that one out. cut off any that are against the nice weeping effect. and a quick nip of a few inches about to balance it out. guess that is some type of pruning.
