    I've finally decided to purchase a manual mower:

    - no pfaffing about with cables/petrol;
    - cheap;
    - more likely to get it out of the shed and mow the lawn;
    - better for the environment;
    - will make me exercise more;
    - will be less intrusive in terms of noise;
    - I only have a small lawn.

    I'm leaning towards a B&Q special - on offer at the moment for 40 quatloos and has 5 star reviews.

    I've other B&Q own brand equipment which seems to be reasonably robust.

    Any one with experience of push mower brands - either good or bad - before I take the plunge?

    Ta :spinning:

      Makes a lot of sense clanless for all the reasons you gave :)
      I had 3 lawns once.....2 now....and for the very small 3rd one I used a hand push qualcast. It was ideal. That piece of grass has gone
      Now I use a Bosch cordless ....lightweight, very quiet, cheap, easy to use and stripes the grass.:)
