    Hi all,

The front of my house has some atrocious stone cladding underneath the front window. I'd like to disguise it with some form of hedge flush to the cladding. There is currently a concrete path that runs along the wall to be covered. I don't fancy breaking the concrete and digging out the hardcore below to made a bed for a hedge. Can I make a narrow/shallow bed out of treated timber and plant into that? Currently thinking about 10inches from the wall and 10inches deep.

Can you suggest anything that would grow in this space?

    Thanks,
    Edward

    Hi.

Perhaps loads of herbs, including some evergreen ones like Rosemary, Golden Oregano, Thyme, Sage. All of which are fragrant and nice to look at, as well as being of use in the kitchen. They're all fairly low maintenance as well, and with the exception of Thyme, which is low growing, they fill out quite quickly.
