Victoria , put them in a bucket of water just to let them go trough the Portugese August , they are moist loving plants not doing really well in the dry heat of summer.
ps the black colocasia is actually a water loving plant more for pond .

That link you sent me for Himalayan Garden had a few different Calocasia really cheap. Abot £2.50 each including the black one.

 

Yes I know , Himalayan garden , will actually send plants completly bone dryed , including banana roots .

 

If the site you are referring to is the one I think it is then the problem (as I see it!!) is that there are about 50 plants per tray, and the minimum order is 10 trays or so (although you can mix the trays - but you still have to buy 500 plants at a time).

But, yes, with some organisation it would be a cheap way of getting some plants each year

 

Kristen ...Yes ...that`s the one , let keep looking at it as there is a sale at the end of august , so the tray will drop the price.

No Sirius , you will receive a mummyfied roots , all the plants on that cataloque are dormant rizhomas , in nature many plants are dry them self in the dry season and come back with the monson season.
