I bought a purple climber rose from the £1 shop and when I scratched the stem it is nicely green but no shoots to speak of at the moment.finger drum

It is described as a purple climber. I have planted it up and hope that it will start to shoot soon. Has anyone had any success with a poorly rose.

Hi Salgor. i have purchased numerous Roses,Climber's and Bush Roses From Poundstretchers
and So far there have been no Failures. I have lost track as to the number of roses i have planted over the past 3 years from this Store. where the Roses not in boxes with their names
and height and breadth growth ??. the ones i have purchased are from a company named,
Dee Ree in Holland. as you live in the same area as myself, we have had some horrendous weather with not a lot of heat in the ground. many of the shrubs have taken a severe hammering from the weather, but they are starting to show signs of coming to life.
As for your Rose, you could give it a wee feed to get it active it should be ok.:dbgrtmb:.
