My rhubarb plant which I planted earlier in the year is now starting to die down.I just wondered that as I have had a load of manure delivered whether or not to spread some around the rhubarb now or leave till the spring.

Spread it round if it's rotted down, otherwise leave it in a heap till the heat has gone out of it :)

I bought a small plant a few months ago, I planted it out a bit early and the frost hit it after a few days of nice weather,

At one point I thought it was a gonna, anyhow after a month its pulled through and looking like a healthy plant,

I'm now looking forward to a nice crumble :hapfeet:

I didn't know you could grow it in pots. Maybe I can have some after all.

Yes we all like it Verdun :), thanks for the watering tip I was going to google how much they needed, luckily ive kept them well watered :)

I would seek further advice RR, mine are planted in planters but there's no bottom in it, the roots can go as deep as they can, someone will be able to give you advice, mine are as good as in the ground.

Would it be wise to give it a feed please,

When I planted it I put a full bag of compost and a fair bit of sawdust mixed in, that was about two months ago and the plant was very small,

            It looks healthy atm.

Rhubarb wont grow well in containers.....martin has roots going into the soil so should be fine. I would be inclined to use chicken pellets or fish blood and bone martin :)

Hi Verdun I ended up feeding it tomato feed, it appears to have done it more good than harm,
